Mobilizer takes Mac OSX Locations to the next Level.
It can automatically detect a network location based on a rule, like a DHCP packet received or an airport network name.
Once that network is detected it changes the Mac OS X Location, especially useful if you use proxy servers.
It can then run actions, which can connect your network shares for you and remember the username and password for those shares or set your default printer.
You can now select a location from a location menu anytime, by pressing Alt-Option-L.
Mobilizer Lite is available for use for free, a Pro version will be released in the future.

Cannot run program on Macbook Air
I tried downloading both the latest version and previous version of Mobilizer Lite and running it on my Macbook Air but the application will not load. It does the zoom effect that indicates that the program is loading but then doesn't put anything in my menu bar at the top.
Is there something I should be doing?
Just upgraded using the automatic updates
Everything now works fine. For anyone having problems with the program running try installing 1.3 first and then have it automatically upgrade using the built-in update tool.
Update on this
I downloaded the 1.3 release and it installed just fine. I will test the automatic upgrade a little later and report back the results.
Add actions to Mobilizer 1.3.2
May you add "change to smtp" into actions item ?
Thanks
Time Zone
If you could add Change Time Zone to the actions, this would really rock. You are doing a great job!
Issue with 10.5.2
I've been using Mobilizer successfully under 10.4.11, but I can't get it to run under 10.5.2 on my MacBook Pro. It writes a crash report as soon as I launch it. Is anyone else having this issue? I can post the log if needed.
Mount Volume
Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to mount and afp volume. I put the following into the mount volume action:
afp://mini.local/TimeMachine and it can't mount it. Normally, to mount it I just find my server mac in the finder and click on the share. How do you make it mount that kind of share. SMB is not enabled on the server.
Mount AFP Share
The way you are putting in the share is correct.
Try this: go to Go/Connect to server, then type in the url above. If it works there, it should work in Mobilizer.
You may find you need to use a user name and password. so then the format would be
afp://username:password@mini.local/TimeMachine
or you may find that its not resolving, so you should use the ip address of mini.local, like so
afp://192.168.0.1/TimeMachine
Oh... thank you man. but
Oh... thank you man.
but this isn't working for me :(
or you may find that its not resolving, so you should use the ip address of mini.local, like soafp://192.168.0.1/TimeMachine
There is a message shows to me "ip address is not find"...

Mobilizer adpotance
Hi, i used Mobilizer...but mmm.. actually i don't remember a version of my mac os... now i switched to windows completely. Mobilizer is really powerfull soft. Thanks for the topic. My website network monitoring blog
Mount AFP Share
I did some digging. Found some interesting things:
1. When I put in Go>Connect to server it does not work. But it I take out afp:// and just leave Mini/TimeMachine then it works.
2. I tried to just using your mountshare.sh script (I think that's how it's called).
I basically executed the source code from the CLI. Every single line of it. It mounted the share without username and password just fine.
3. I noticed that if under actions, I make it mount two volumes, the first being the TimeMachine, second one being the home folder on the mini (afp://Mini/andrey) it will mount andrey, but not the time machine. If I take out the time machine, it won't mound andrey. If put andrey first, and time machine second, it won't mount either.
4. If I add action to modify the 'require password' parameter, it does it meaning I can go in sys pref and see that the check mark was taken off/added, but it does not affect anything. After the it changes that parameter, the screen saver still requires me to put in a password untill I go to sys pref and redo it manually.
So, basically, what puzzles me is that using the source of you apple script, I can mount the share as I put it in the Mobilizer, but Mobilizer errors out, when it tries to mount it on detection of a location.
Mount AFP Share
Thanks for getting back to me,
What exactly is afp://Mini/TimeMachine ?
Is it a share under System Preferences/Sharing ? or is it setup when you enable Time Machine (I haven't done this on my leopard machine yet). but if you tell me how you set it up Ill replicate the setup with my machines and fix it.
The "require password " parameter should work, make sure you enter a 1/0 in the attribute box, also try the latest version i just released.
If it helps you can look at how actions are executed in the actionTypes.plist, the Connect a network path action executes "mountVolume.sh %%attribute%%"
Doesn't change location after sleep
I love the concept of Mobilizer, but I'm having a problem where it doesn't change the location after the laptop is woken from sleep. If I sleep the laptop in one location and wake it in another, then the Location doesn't change automatically. I have MacBookPro running Leopard. Thanks.
I have the same problem with
I have the same problem with 1.3.2 - it's the first version I've used. It works for one location change then stops.
It doesn't let me click on the jigsaw icon in the menu so I "killall Mobilizer" and the relaunch. It works fine for maybe one or two location changes again.
I am using 10.5.2 - no Haxies or InputManagers installed.

Since upgrading to 10.5.3, I haven't had a problem with Mobilizer Lite.
Love this program....
Sleep issues
I think I have fixed these issues with it crashing after sleep, I have completely optimised the application now, removed all memory leaks and kept object allocations to a minimum.
I am testing this new version at the moment and will release it soon
